The Centre for Health and Beauty (CHB) is planned in Malmö’s West Harbour Area. That area is characterised in part by its history, in part by its closeness to the sea, and in part by the enormous expansion it is undergoing.

 

CHB is to be established as a centre for health- and beauty-oriented activities, including therapeutic skin treatment, plastic surgery, beauty care, hairdressing, and other activities directed at giving you a sense of physical and psychological well-being. The plans for the CHB building were developed in accordance with the client’s desire for flexibility and the integration of various functions. An underground garage is to be available to employees and to customers of the Centre, as well as for deliveries. From the garage, you can easily get to the reception and to the vertical connecting links within the building. The reception is to be located on the first floor and is designed to create a sense of identity for CHB.

 

All the organisations located in the building are to be represented here, both in a functional and a technical sense. The reception is designed to give the building and what is going on in it an image and to attract people there. The floors higher up in the building will be designed for maximum flexibility in terms of how floor space can be divided up, allowing firms of very differing size and needs to locate there. The roof and uppermost section of the building offers recreational facilities for people employed in the building, space for social gatherings and the chance to marvel at the views of Malmö and of the bridge across the sound.
